Even though we are living in the US we still feel it's important to celebrate Australia day, as it is winter (and we live far away from the coast) going to the beach is out, and due to the though preggers thing... no drinking... and since we don't have a BBQ... and it's cold... anyway, to focus on what we can do... EAT! Stu's been busy in the kitchen and has managed to make some very yummy iced vo-vos, anzac biscuits (NOT cookies!) and has tried to make a sponge cake (actually he has had 5 attempts and no luck, so lamingtons are also out!)... but the anzac biscuits are wonderful... the whole house smells like melted butter and golden syrup.
We are having a bit of a delayed Aust. day party next sunday, so more biscuits will be made, along with some sausage rolls and mini pasties... should be interesting to see what our new american friends think of the aussie foods... is it bad if i secretly want them to hate them so i can eat them all??
