the most amazing class
On Saturday i started a really amazing class.... its all about re-using denim, either by making changes to your current clothing or turning your old clothes into something new... at the moment i am working on two pieces, a denim jacket, which i've changed the collar and a few other bits and pieces on, and a wrap skirt that i've made out of an old pair of jeans, just need to add a bit of fabric to the bottom of it, and it wil be finished.... will post a pic then.

T-Shirts
Well i took the plunge and bought some organic t-shirts for screen printing, at this stage i've got sone in 00, 0, and 2 (the only sizes available).
I am in the process of designing my pictures for printing, and will hopefully have something to show by next weekend.
I have also bought 9 litres of ink! Hopefully the business goes well or i am going to have a LOT of ink left.... and i am not really sure what else you would do with it...
We had a great Brown Owls get-together yesterday, and it was great to catch up with everyone again, we worked on Crotcheting, which was a lot of fun!
I think the next brown owl meeting might be here.... I asked the girls if they would be interesting in a bit of screenpainting, and they were!
We also talked about having a crafty weekend away, I loved the idea so i starting looking at possible locations.
I think i've found somewhere that might work... now the fun begins!

Screenprinted t-shirts
Hi all
I could really do with some advice, I want to start my own small business and i was to sell some screen printed t-shirts.
I have found a supplier that will sell organic cotton t-shirts which only seem to cost a few extra dollars per shirt.
Do you think it is worth paying a few extra dollars for the organic cotton?

Lilliy's new beanie
On our way back from NZ we visiting our friends in the Hunter valley for a couple of days. It was great catching up with them and also meeting their little girl for the first time.
Sarah (Lilly'e mummy) mentioned that she was after a beanie for her, so while we were in town we went to the local craft shop and found some wool.
I didn't have a pattern on me so i just made something up, i think it looks cool!
been in NZ
Been away for a few weeks, at a quilt symposium in NZ, it was a amazing experience and i came away with lots of inspiration.
I will show you pictures when i finish some of the projects.
I have had some amazing classes recently, i learnt how to screen print and also how to dye fabric, am planning on going out today and buying some ink to do some more screenprinting, i love the idea of turning plain fabric into something special and then using it to make a quilt or clothing, so much more effort, but it is really worth it.
I don't know if many of you have heard of Print's Charming? they screenprint fabric and Marcus Brothers also sell their designs, anyway on my way back from NZ we stopped off at their studio and said hello. It was so great to see their studio and all the wonderful things they design. (and of course pick up a few little bits and pieces.... one can never have too much fabric!
Here is a photo that i got Stu to take for me, of Cath and I at the studio.

Cleaning day
It's about time i clean the studio... the place is currently so messy that i can barely get in the door!
Hopefully i can make it back this arvo with some before and after photos... if not it either means i've got stuck under a pile of fabric, or got distracted and started working on another project.... the second option is probably the most likely....
Wish me Luck!!!

Creating
Hi,
I haven't been around for a while and it's only now that i feel i want to put down in words whats been happening in my world in the past 6 weeks or so.
You see Stu and i created something very special, a baby. But unfortunely it wasn't to be.
I had an ectopic pregnancy, and had to undergo surgery, where the surgeons had to take out my right fallopian tube.
It's been a full-on couple of weeks, i never thought i would bond with something so quickly and miss it so much when it was gone.
Stu and i are okay, sad sometimes but we will get there.
